Reports To: Operations Manager

The Production Planner will work in a multi-functional team working closely with Operations, Purchasing, Senior Management, Finance and Technical team leads to provide planning solutions to ensure timely delivery of finished goods.

Role Description

  • Lead in production planning on a day to day basis in terms of materials & capacity.
  • Develop and generate a planning model to suit engineered to order business model.
  • Work with all functions to ensure full material availability for production schedule.
  • Take full responsibility for ensuring the longer-term production plan is fully reviewed on a weekly basis in conjunction with all stakeholders.
  • Work with Purchasing to manage and expedite materials for production.
  • Maintain & analyse all production planning performance metrics – on-time start, on-time completion and delivery, lead time compliance, aged work orders, labour and material variances; identify, communicate, and resolve issues for the best results.
  • Regularly update production variances and adjust the production plan for best results.
  • Proactively reports product and material availability issues; troubleshoot when necessary.
  • Regular communications with operations / engineering / purchasing / shipping teams to review production plan and performance metrics.
  • Work with the project management team to develop the production plan based on lead times and resource availability.
  • Prepare documents needed for production, assist in the maintenance and reporting of KPIs.
  • Support in the automation of current processes and practices via ERP to improve efficiency within the team.
  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining transactional accuracy in the ERP system for inventory control and material usage in production.
  • Preparation of the work orders in ERP system for manufacture.
  • Planning the pick list for the warehouse.
  • Monitoring the close out of jobs on Epicore.
  • Monitoring the standard times on production jobs on Epicore.
  • Reviewing bill of materials and liaising with engineers on part setup.
  • BOM setup for mechanical and electrical BOM including uploading bill of materials onto ERP via Data Migration Tool & uploading bill of materials from PLM to ERP.
  • Adding operations / subcontracts to assemblies for job setup.
  • Setting up / updating jobs and releasing to Purchasing.

Requirements

  • 3rd level qualification an advantage but not required – technical, business, supply chain.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong capability on ERP systems.
  • Excellent level on Microsoft Office suite, in particular high level Excel expertise.
  • Detail-orientated, ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks with strict deadlines.
  • Persuasive with well-developed influencing skills.
  • Data analysis and numeric skills with, using logic and reasoning to help establish solutions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly motivated and self starter.

Job Location

This role is primarily located at the ProSys Group offices in Carrigtohill, Co. Cork. Occasional international travel to client meetings maybe required on an ad-hoc basis. Permanent, Full-Time.
